New Beginnings

I FINALLY graduated this past Saturday, it has only taken me 6 years...ha! I now have my Bachelor of Science degree in Christian Ministry and Leadership. It has been a while since I have last posted but since then I have been hired as the youth direct at my church, First Presbyterian Church of Smyrna.... GOD IS SO GOOD!! I have also recently been hired as an EA at my alma mater, LaVergne High School which I am VERY excited about!

God is opening so many doors for me and giving me new beginnings and I am so grateful! Working with the youth is my dream and my calling, I love it! We have a full and fun summer ahead of us and I can't wait to see what all God has planned for our group! I will keep you all posted as I continue through my ministry and walk with Christ.

Please pray for my ministry and my job at LHS and also for my youth!

WWJD??

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:1-2

I was reading through scripture and ran across these two verses and just kept reading them over and over. Do honestly take to heart and thank Christ everyday for giving His life up for us? Do we really understand what that means? I know we talk about it and often say Christ died on the cross for us but wow, like He really DIED for US! Could you imagine dying for anyone?... Let alone the entire human race, it's just an amazing and humbling thought and act. I know that I don't thank God for sending His only son to die for my sins nearly enough. The idea of being imitators of Christ and walking in love like He does should really teach us something. What does it even mean to be an imitator of Christ? To me it means to walk humbly in love and to strive to be Christ like, no matter how impossible it may seem.

Do you remember those WWJD bracelets?... I still wear mine sometimes and I love it. If we really would stop and think What Would Jesus Do before we do something then we wouldn't make nearly as many mistakes... Granted we can't read minds but we have a good idea of what Jesus would do by reading the stories from the Bible and by the convictions in our hearts.

Christ deserves our EVERYTHING so let's give it to Him!

Saturdays

Could a Saturday get any better?... Slept in today and only woke up cuz the neighbors were right outside my window putting together a trampoline. =] I woke up in quite an awesome mood, deciding to clean... Like really clean!! Before I could clean though I had to have coffee of course! Opened all my windows and started cleaning after I got a lil Folgers in my system. I cleaned like the President was coming over, it made me feel good. Now I know most of you don't consider cleaning on a Saturday afternoon a great Saturday but to me it was. What made it even better though was the shopping spree my dad took me on. =] I got a bunch of grown up clothes, nice dress clothes... It was a big step for me. Haha! Enjoyed my shopping extravaganza and now I am babysitting the coolest kid ever!

Tomorrow is a big day for me, I am excited because I know God is calling me in this direction but I am also very nervous but I know the Lord will be with me. I am asking for prayers for tomorrow... I can't talk much about it but I'll put it this wY, it is a big step in my career and calling to do God's work.

Enjoy your Sunday's... For all they are worth!!

Coffee

Mondays are always the hardest day for some reason.. I don't know if it is because you don't want to say goodbye to the relaxing weekend or if it is because we are afraid of what the new week might bring, either way it's not a good feeling. Today I woke up late, ate my special K like it was going out of style and hurried to get ready. It never fails that on Mondays when I arrive to work I have a pile of things to do. I was hoping when I got to work there would be a fresh pot of coffee but I guess at 10AM most people have already had their morning coffee because the pot was DRY! At this point the idea of coffee was on my mind and I couldn't shake it so around 3:30 I made a much needed trip to McDonalds for a medium coffee with plenty of creamer and Equal!! I must say that all the coffee did was give me a little bit of energy, totally didn't make my day any better. Went to get gas when I got off and I felt like I needed to take out a small loan to fill my Jeep up! Also, my mentor and amazing friend was in the ER for emergency surgery to have her appendix out! With all the bad going on God still seemed to make Himself and His amazing glory be known! I received a phone call that helped reassured my calling in life and carreer... Please just pray... And I will post more as I know more.

With all of that said.... Coffee isn't magic juice, only thing that can make your Monday better is Jesus Christ and His AMAZING love!!

Please keep Melanie in your prayers as she recovers from surgery!!

Sundays

Sundays are by far my favorite day of the week! I started out my day today at 7 am, went to church early to help set up for the youth coffee house. Made a few pots of coffee and laughed with all the people that make me happy! After coffee I had Sunday school with some of my best friends, we even had a visitor to our class. After Sunday school we had an awesome church service... All about Moses and the 10 commandments. Today for lunch one of the youth's parents made meat ball subs for us! Yummy!! They were so good and the kids enjoyed the hang out time. We had a pretty relaxed youth group today, it was the last day for our current youth leader... We are very sad to see him go but wish him well and will pray for his health continuously! Once I left church today I went tanning, fake and bake style! And after this is when my Sunday laziness sat in, I came home and slept for 3 hours!! A 3 hour nap?? That's just insane! Woke up and just laid there for an hour without moving, it was glorious!! I woke up kind of sluggish and very congested but forced myself to clean the bathroom! I did 20 min of a 30 min work out and now I am back on the couch and soon will hit the hay for the night! Sundays are just my favorite, they make me happy!

I hope everyone else loves Sundays like I do!

Ps. Pray this congestion goes away sooooon!

Creative Writing

A co-worker of mine is taking a creative writing class and she had me read one of her short stories... The woman is TALENTED! After reading her descriptive story I was once again inspired. I originally started this blog in order to write about my ministry and to gain support and prayer from all who follow and then I got off track and let life get the best of me and I just totally stopped writing all together. I realize now that my blog won't be interesting unless I am interested and speak completely from my heart so here I am pledging and promising to do so.

With God's help I will try to write once a day! I will write about my students, struggles, prayer request, ministry opportunities and just my love and faith in God! With each entry I pray that my writing becomes better and more creative but never losing sight of the amazing things God is doing in my life!!

Social networking doesn't have to be for evil, that's our choice.

Show me how to love like you have loved me"

Inspiration.

So... I see people in my life chasing after what they love to do and then I look in the mirror and I am like what the heck?? I want to graduate (which I am =]) and I want to work with youth, I want to be a regular with this blog and tweet more often. I want to inspire others about God thru the gifts he has given me. But when it is all said and done at the end of the day I am exhausted and just want to sleep with no time to do the things I love and want to do, the things I know God is calling me to do.
I want to start a camp, a Christian youth camp and I want to start a Christian organization for youth from broken homes.... But how???
Please keep me and my ministry in your prayers! =]
Campus Life is for sure tho!... Now If I can just give it more time and more heart!

I love all these doors, windows and everything else God is opening for me!!!

Ps. Check out song sparrow in my last post.... True inspiration to go after what you love!

Been awhile....

Sooooo, it's been awhile since I have blogged, I'm such a slacker. I know that before I was blogging as I read thru the Bible but.... I think I am going to change it up a bit. I am reading "The Story" with my church and it is kind of hard to blog on but I have a good idea. I am getting ready to graduate in May with my Christian ministry degree and with that will come new doors that God is already opening for me and new opportunities. With that said I would like to just start blogging about my journey thru ministry which I originally started this blog for.

What do y'all think?

I just started working with Campus Life, Youth for Christ. I will start putting together a list of potential supporters, prayer and financial. I will be shadowing Tate Skyes who is over the middle school ministry and next school year I will take over the Smyrna and Lavergne middle school ministry.

I am officially a minisionary to the local school system.

Thank you God for everything because without you nome of this would be possible.
